Friday 16th June 2023 - Colorado (Slight Risk)

We started today in Elk City and it looked like Colorado would have some Supercells rolling off the Front Range between Colorado Springs and Trinidad, we headed for Lamar and sat just south of Town. SPC had issued another 2% Risk today and storms would hopefully stay discrete long enough into the evening before they lined out into an east moving MCS. One storm that grabbed our attention actually moved over Lamar just before sunset and gained a Tornado warning as it really started to come together, again no Tornado Sirens were heard as we headed through Lamar and took Highway 50 east towards Garden City (This has been a common theme this year with numerous Tornadic Storms not prompting any sirens)

We stopped east of Lamar and looked back on a sturdy looking wall cloud sitting over the city, we stopped a few more times to watch some lightning before grabbing an Applebys dinner in Garden City and letting the line overrun the hotel in the early hours.
