Monday 9th May 2022 - Minnesota & Wisconsin (Enhanced Risk)

Day 1 for Tour 1 and we awoke to a 10% Tornado Risk across Minnesota and Wisconsin at the start of what would be 4 days of Solid risks according to the models or so we thought. We left Grand Island early and had a target of just South and East of Minneapolis St Paul. Storms fired around 3pm and we were just south of Initiation.With an 80knt Jet Streak we soon found chasing 60-70mph NNE Storms an impossibility over increasingly bad terrain towards the MN/WIS Border areas along with the Mississippi River crossing this was becoming one of my toughest chases I have ever performed. We were moments away from a leading edge Spin up on the Mississippi on the Wisconsin side near the town of Stockholm but had no visual from our position. The best part of today though was the Mammatus just before Sunset.
